Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, widely known by her stage name Katy Perry is an American singer, songwriter born on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California, to Pentecostal pastor parents Maurice Keith Hudson and Mary Christine Perry and has two siblings, a sister, and a brother. She belongs to Portuguese, German, English, Irish, Scottish, and French ethnicity.

Her next album Witness in 2017 became her third album to top the charts, and her single Chained to the Rhythm broke Spotify's record of most first-day streams for a song by a female artist. She served as a judge on the TV show American Idol.
