Lily Jane Collins is a British-American actress, model, and writer born on March 18, 1989, in Guildford, Surrey, England, to a musician father Phil Collins, and the president of Beverly Hills Women's Club mother Jill Tavelman. She has three half-brothers and a half-sister and was raised, Christian. Collins belongs to English, German, and Ashkenazi Jewish ethnicity.

Lily Collins began her professional acting career by the age of two when she appeared in the BBC series Growing Pains and growing up as a teenager, she wrote for magazines like Teen Vogue, Seventeen, and The Los Angeles Times. Collins has starred in several movies including Priest in 2011, Mirror Mirror in 2012, The Moral Instruments: City of Bones in 2013, Love, Rosie in 2014, and more.
